Real Food-New Normal

As our Mindful Nourishment New Year challenge has wrapped up, I have a few thoughts that I’d like to share with you. I have completed these challenges countless times, ranging anywhere from a full on cleanse to just little adjustments here and there. And I have to admit, I’m always left with the same thought, and hopefully I’m not the only one. “Whew, now I can go back to eating normal again!” However, as challenges and cleanses came and went I was left looking and feeling the same as I did before I did all this hard work.

“We are what we eat.” We hear it all the time and this could not be more true.

I began to shift my ways of thinking while doing these challenges. At the end of challenges, my new challenge would be to see how long I could keep the challenge going.

“Could I do this challenge for two more days, then another two, then another two?” I started feeling like this type of eating was my new normal.

There was a whole other aspect to this as well. I began to notice physical changes as well. Since I had done the challenge longer, not only was I feeling better but also was seeing the actual physical changes in my body. In class, we talk about embracing the shakes because they sales = it’s working and that is when we will see the change in our bodies. This holds true for eating as well. Yes, challenges are fabulous for creating those habits and making us more mindful, but true changes happen when we continue the challenge for longer than the allotted three weeks. And yes, its annoying sometimes, and forces us to plan and be more organized, but pushing ourselves out of our comfort zone is when we see real changes transpire. We dedicate so much time and money to taking class, but are we truly getting all the benefits we could be by fueling our bodies with real, clean, and nutritious food?

I challenge you to make a new goal for yourself. How long can I continue the challenge? Maybe today you fell off the wagon, but guess what, as cliché as it sounds, tomorrow is a new day, or even the next meal is a new meal! So go on and create a new challenge for yourself!

Mindful Nourishment knows that sometimes we need a little more encouragement and accountability, so they have a Spring Cleanse.  The Spring Cleanse delves deeper into eating clean. Not only will it give you the opportunity to continue this challenge but to also take it one step further so that you may learn more about how food affects you and your mood.   There are no calorie restrictions and you can eat as much as you want of nutrient rich whole foods.

During the Mindful Nourishment Cleanse, you will…

  • Detox from the chemicals that exist in processed foods.
  • Reduce inflammation in your body that may be causing disease.
  • Determine if you have unknown food sensitivities that are holding you back from optimal health.
  • Begin to heal the gut for improved health.
  • Reclaim your power against addictive foods.
  • Stimulate your body’s natural ability to heal.

Not only will you receive the 35-page Cleanse Guide filled with all the information you need for a successful Cleanse, you will also receive over 70 Cleanse-friendly seasonal recipes.
