Client Spotlight – Holly Applegate

Back 6 months ago, this cheerful, gorgeous girl comes into the studio and takes her first class with us at Barre + Beyond. She had an amazing focus about her;  a power in each move and dedication that I could see in her eyes. She was not shy at all and just after that first class, she just seemed to make herself feel at home. I do say that we try to make everyone feel comfortable and at home here, but it is nice when someone feels that way automatically.  When I opened the studio, my goal was to create a community of strong women, but I realize more and more that it has nothing to do with me and has all to do with our fabulous clients. Holly Applegate is a cheerful, honest, hardworking young lady that I love having at the studio. She is one of those individuals that make this studio unique and special and our fitness “home”. Thanks Holly for being you and spreading all your positive energy will us. Read what Holly had to say about her experience here:

When did you first start coming to Barre + Beyond ?

I first started coming to Barre + Beyond in November. I saw some friends posting about the studio on Facebook, and couldn’t pass up the new member trial, and so jumped right on in. Fast forward to now, I’m doing the monthly unlimited, Spring challenge, and anything else the ladies at Barre + Beyond make available.

What got you “hooked” on Mind Over Matter Method (M3) Classes?

What really got me hooked was the variety of classes, incredibly knowledgeable instructors, different challenges/monthly specials and community within the studio. As an educator, I love the fact that we have a bingo board that allows us to get some great deals at the studio. For bingo, I was able to get the boarder and am hoping for April to do the same/possibly even full card!

Have you seen changes in your physique?

I’ve noticed that my muscles are starting to look more defined. I feel more in shape/toned now than before I started coming to Barre + Beyond on a regular basis (even after running 2 marathons and a handful of half marathons!)

How often do you take class?

I try to make it to classes at least 4-5 days a week. I love the option of being able to do am and pm classes. So doubling up is never a problem!

Have you ever taken a barre class before Barre + Beyond?

In Chicago, I tried out a variety of barre studios through a studio membership that allows you the flexibility to try so many different things called Class Pass. Being a member at Barre + Beyond however, has made me feel more apart of a community because I get to see the same individuals on a regular basis which is a great way to end a long work day/kick off a weekend!

Do you have any goals set for yourself in class?

To embrace the shake and never give up. I’m getting married in July and have a little mantra that I say to myself during classes, “Nobody wants to see a flabby bride. Do NOT give up.” Another goal is to go to classes at least 4 days a week and push myself as much as possible.

What would you tell someone that is hesitant to try a class?

You don’t need to kill yourself with cardio and heavy weights to look and feel great. Give it a shot, and give it your all. You’ll be pleased and always coming back for more! I can’t get enough of Barre + Beyond and am so thrilled that I have found a “home” studio to be apart of.

Thanks Holly! Again, you are a true gem and thank your for all your support. Thanks for Sharing Barre Love!
