Don’t Put All Your Eggs in One Basket – Fitness Routine

“Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.” The saying applies to many things in life. If you are a student applying for colleges or a job, don’t put all your eggs in one basket.   If you are an adult who is financially independent, we are told to diversify and not put all our money in one stock. Well, “don’t put all your eggs in one basket” applies to fitness as well. Our bodies get used to one barre move, so if you don’t challenge yourself, your strength will plateau.  We know that the small isometric  movements are extremely effective to slim down and tone.  But we recognize that your body needs variety too.  The past 2 weeks, I added Barre Boot camp to my routine. I realize that I’m not as strong as I thought I was. It’s a challenge for me to take this awesome circuit training class. It gets me out of my comfort zone. I can hold a chair forever, but my body is used to chair.  I’m the owner of a fitness studio so I should be in the best shape. Well I’m not and I realized it in Elizabeth’s awesome class on Monday.  I love that we added the Barre Boot Camp and T-Barre-X.  Another class that will be hitting my schedule, (weather permitting) is Barre Out. I was always a dancer and never allowed to “run” as it did not build the lean thighs in the image of a ballerina (mind you, images have changed, thank goodness).  So in Barre Out, we get our barre moves interspersed between spurts of walk/run intervals around a track. I have never been a “runner” but I love this class because it combines all of that together. You will see me at the 8:30 Thursday morning class religiously as well. One more class at the schedule and I’d like to highlight is Barre Fusion. The usual class time is 8:30 Friday mornings and it hits our Wildcard schedule Wednesday evenings and Sundays. This class is a perfect Fusion of barre meets Vinyasa yoga. Again using your muscles in a different way, challenges our muscles and keeps us only getting stronger. The last class favorite which I taught last weekend to Stretch. I loved  seeing all the barre beauties that came out to our Stretch class and I am sure your body loved it too.

So, you ask yourself;  what is a good regimen for you?

Well don’t put your all your eggs in one basket and find different classes to add into your routine. Find a schedule that works for you but try to mix it up and do the following:

2 Mixed Level Barre Classes a week

1-2 Cardio Classes (Barre Out, Barre Boot Camp, Barre Fusion)

1 Stretch Class

That will be a very well-rounded way to complete your workout.

Check our schedule for more variety to come and don’t hesitate to ask us to help you come up with a routine that fits you.

To all my Barre Beauties, come see us at the Barre and don’t put all your eggs in one basket! Come out tonight, T-Barre-X at 6pm and Barre Yoga Fusion at 7Pm.

See you tonight!

Orlee
