Baby Steps in Right Direction
I’m not sure how to start this blog but I know what my message is going to be so I’m just going to start with that. As our knowledge increases, our surroundings change and our world changes, our role in life is to educate those around us. As we learn new things, share with those around you. From there, they they will make their decisions on how to proceed, to their their life and we will never judge. So why am I bringing this up? Earth Day is Sunday and we have our Earth Day Kids class today. We are doing a check-in challenge this month for Save the Dunes. I am not an expert in environmental “stuff”, but I know it is important, and I would like to teach my children that it is important. On Sunday we will be going to Adopt a Beach and pick up litter (anyone welcome to join us). My job is to teach my children the importance of taking care of environment and every little bit helps. I am not always perfect in recycling or turning off the water, but we know more now than we did when we grew up and more than when our parents grew up. And the topics are not just environment. We know more about safety. The laws have changed the more we know and we adapt such as riding with a helmet, seat belts and car seats. We adapt and change. We know more about health and nutrition. There is a wealth of information out there. We live in a world with more toxins, chemicals and bad things! So there are those that educated us on topics where we are not the experts. We learn, we take what we want, we change our habits but if someone does not, we never judge. All we can do is educate and let people take the information that they want and move from there, but if they don’t know, how can they make a educated decision. We know exercise is good for you. Drinking water is good. Eating clean is good. It’s hard to do it all. It’s hard to change our habits. But with guidance from these experts around us and friends to help you, we can take baby steps in the right direction. Most of all, it is important to continue to set the example for your loved ones, including your children. So I applaud all of you for taking the plunge to take care of yourself and come to Barre. If you are reading this and have yet to step into the studio, know that we will provide a space for you to be the strongest you can be, to give you the expert advice and steps to build a strong body and mind, and give you an environment to be the most positive that you can be and to be the happiest you can be. So if you have the knowledge to do better for the environment, be safer and healthier, take baby steps in the right direction for you, your family and the next generation. Cheers to our future!
