Girls Just Wanna Have "Lifted buns!"
Girls Just Wanna Have “Lifted Buns”
It’s easy to overlook a good butt workout in lieu of getting those flat abs, but one thing you shouldn’t do is skip that seat work! Not only does boosting those buns boost your confidence and give you that to-die-for figure, but it also helps to prevent a slew of injuries you might not even realize are associated with your seat.
Girls Just Wanna have Lifted Buns for a reason. The toning and
tightening effect makes sliding on that new pair of jeans an exciting prospect instead of one to dread, and you can kiss those mom jeans goodbye! Sculpting and lifting makes that new swimming suit bottom a possibility instead of just a dream, and you’ll never have to worry about turning around in the mirror again.
A strong seat also helps protect your lower back and hips, some of the most injury prone areas. Why are these areas so prone to injury? Because our glutes, some of the largest and most powerful muscles on a human body, are often underdeveloped and weak. This means that our bodies have to compensate in other ways, such as straining in the lower back or holding tension in the hips and hamstrings.
Why are our buns so weak? Well one reason is we tend to sit on them all day long, which stretches out our seat muscles while shortening our hip flexors. This means that we can’t fully extend through our hip flexors which prevents the glutes from doing their job- a job that is then picked up by the lower back or hamstrings resulting in pain and injury.
So what can we do to fix this? A combination of stretching and strengthening is the best. Take time to release the tension in your hamstrings and hips by rolling with a foam roller, then stretch those same places with some complementary stretches to further release and lengthen. From there your seat will be ready to do its job and you can concentrate on creating the strength that will not only give you the sculpted physique you want but also a seat able to do its job!
Learn a series of complementary stretches and exercises this Saturday at M.O.M.S Basics Sculpted Seat workshop at 9:45 AM with Orlee. The workshop is just $16.
