Music and Movement
Do you ever listen to the radio in the car and start tapping your finger on the steering wheel? Or while waiting in line at the grocery store, you start to tap your foot to the beat of the music? Well, music and movement are sisters. They belong together.

Studies show that music choice can distract you from discomfort, enhances mood and increases work ethic. With the right music, movement just follows along. At Mind Over Matter Studio we strive to help you be your better self at the barre and beyond; to be strong not only physically but also mentally. Those mental moments when you might be in the middle of chair then you feel like you want to “give up”, are the one that we want you to find that mental strength to push through. And sometimes it might just be the music that might help you push through. You CAN do it! It does not need to be painful. It actually can be invigorating. Allow yourself to push through to the deepest edge and that is where it will make a difference in your workout.
So if there is a piece of music that you just love and then when you hear it on the radio that screams to you “one inch up and one inch down” . Or if there is a new tune that yells to you “squeeze, squeeze and hold”. Whatever it is, we want to hear what it is. We use spotify for our music so hopefully it is there for you! Let us know.
