Share M.O.M.s and YOUR love this season!

We’ve all seen this picture going around the internet:

Holiday parties you don’t want to go to, shopping for gifts you’re obligated to give, receiving gifts you don’t need or want, cooking (and eating!) way too much, and generally just going going going until you want to drop.

So much pressure is placed on you to BUY BUY BUY and GIVE GIVE GIVE. But after all that BUYing and GIVing, we’re forgetting to share.  Share a moment with a friend, a cup of hot cocoa with a child, a quite hour with yourself, there are so many ways to share your love this season, and sometimes it just means slowing down for a moment.

Here are a few ways we want to help you de-stress and feel good this season:

What to do:

Do something kind: Numerous scientific studies have shown that doing something kind or altruistic for another person is not only beneficial to that person but will also boost your mood. According to a study by Rachel Piferi of Johns Hopkins University and Kathleen Lawler of the University of Tennessee, it can even help lower your blood pressure and leave you feeling overall healthier!

What to do:

Share a moment: Instead of giving a gift to someone you love, share a moment with them. This will create an experience and a memory which is much more valuable and long lasting than that Fir Scented Candle you could give them instead.

Shop local: Wisebread.com’s list of 25 ways to de stress during the Holidays includes making sure you shop in your own community – “Shopping local is a two-fold blessing. You can skip the endless traveling and keep money in your own community by keeping local businesses thriving.”
