Be Strong. Be Positive. Be Happy. Be Mindful
Does it make you happy? With our theme of mindfulness, I stress it is important to be mindful in your daily activities, your friendships, your habits and more. Ask yourself, as you make your daily choices; how does this make me feel? Am I doing what makes me happy? How will I feel later? I preach doing things for yourself all the time, but I too struggle in different aspects of being mindful and doing things for myself. But I have to thank you, ladies, for keeping me in check. I have to thank you for giving me these tips to make me happy during the gray of winter.
1. Get body work done! It is ok to get a massage, a shiatsu session, a facial, or mani pedi. These simple activities relieve stress and make us happier overall. So once a week, I will treat myself. It could be a facial at Glazer Facial Plastic or just as easy a mask I do on Sundays. It could be a haircut appointment or massage. The fact is, I deserve it and it makes me happy. Thanks ladies for reminding me that it is okay to treat myself.
2. The topic of flowers also came up. I love flowers so much and I bought some for the barre progressive and Julie, and I realized flowers make me happy. One of our barre beauties gets flowers delivered once a month. I love it! So what did I do yesterday afternoon? I went and bought myself some gorgeous roses and told my husband these are from you! Having a clean, colorful organized environment makes me happy!
3. Speaking of clean; I am purging! Getting rid of things I don’t need, is making me happy. There is all this hype on minimalist living. By no means, am I at a true minimal state yet, but I am getting there. It is about having a things in my closet and in my home that make me happy. If I don’t like a pair of jeans…it
s gone. I wear things that make me happy and when I want that newest Alo Top, I get it for myself because I look good!
4. Chocolate. Yes, chocolate makes me happy. Here is the deal. I need to be mindful so I don’t finish the whole bar of chocolate. A little bit it ok and I deserve it. I work hard and one little piece it’s gonna make me feel better.
5. Working Out! So of course I have to bring that up because we are a barre studio We are here for women to feel better, get stronger and be happy. So ladies, the fact is there is scientific proof that working out releases endorphins and makes you happy! So do it. Do it for yourself. You do so much for everyone else, so do it for your body! Don’t ever hesitate to drop-in. Know we welcome you with open arms and want you too to be happy.
