Client Spotlight: Julie Bombacino

This Month’s client spotlight is Julie Bombacino. Julie has been a fixture at M.O.M.s Method since the beginning. And I mean the BEGINNING. When founder of M.O.M.s Method, Orlee Glazer, first started teaching, Julie was there. She then followed her from  temporary studio to temporary studio knowing she wouldn’t get the same workout anywhere else. Julie’s loyalty and hard work at the barre have been instrumental in building the great environment we have at the studio, so thanks Julie, it wouldn’t be the same without you!

If you haven’t had the chance to get to know Julie at the studio, here’s a few things to know about this awesome lady: Julie is the mom of 2 beautiful kids, Luca and AJ, and wife to Tony. She is also the founder and CEO of Real Food Blends, which are 100% Real Food Meals for people on feeding tubes. Her company was inspired by her own son, AJ, who is tube fed. Julie was one of NWI Times’ 20 under 40 in 2013, has been described as “a remarkable woman who is on a mission,” by Dushan Nikolovski, director of Purdue University Calumet’s Center for Entrepreneurship Success. This is evident to all of us M.O.M.s, not only through her handwork at the barre, but her obvious dedication to her family and her company, and we love having her as a part of our M.O.M.s Family!

“With two little kids, a husband, a company, this is really the only hour in my day that’s just for me- every other hour of my day is assigned to someone else.”

When did you first start taking M.O.M.s Method Classes?

The first one she offered! So October of 2013, I was there, one of the first ones- at Sand creek  and Omni and Eclipse. And I’m glad different classes are being offered now, I love the Pilates and the Interval class, and really want to make it to a stretch class- and of course I love the basics, and I feel like it keeps me challenged.

What got you “hooked” on M.O.M.s Method Classes?

I’ve run a marathon, I used to do 5 spin classes a week, a lot of cardio and boot camp classes and stuff like that and I finally realized that those just made me hungrier! I didn’t really see the changes in my body that I wanted to from it, and this is great because of the lengthening and the straightening. I tend to bulk up really easily, so I like that this has some of that lengthening, I need that!

Have you seen changes in your physique?

I have. I’m a lot stronger in certain areas, and  I’ve definitely noticed changes that other exercises didn’t give me. Even without much of a weight loss clothes are fitting better, things are a little perkier, which is fantastic it is the purpose of doing this!

How often do you take class?

Anywhere from 4-6 times a week usually. I try to take 2 days off, but its hard I want to come every day! I need it mentally as much as I want it physically. With two little kids, a husband, a company, this is really the only hour in my day that’s just for me- every other hour of my day is assigned to someone else.

“So I really come here for the mental aspect as much  as the physical aspect.”

Have you ever taken a barre class before M.O.M.s?

I had, not a ton, but I always loved it and wanted to take more.

Do you have any goals set for yourself in class?

Not every single class, but I have done things like make it a goal to get through chair without stopping, and sometimes it not going on to my knees for planks and pushups, and somedays I definitely feel stronger than others!

What makes M.O.M.s special for you beyond just being a place to workout?

I really do appreciate that this is a labor of love as much as a business for Orlee and all you guys, and the sense of community is fantastic and being able to talk to other women and have that interaction is great too! So thank you!

Thank YOU Julie! Your work at the Barre and in your life is inspiring, and we are so happy to be able to give you that time to “be YOUR better self” 🙂
