Create Your Barre Habit Now!
Our lovely Kylie helped to organize our back storage area today and found our 2018 New Year Focused You selfie sticks. We each wrote down out goals, snapped a photo and we hung it around the studio to keep us motivated and well, focused. I found Lindsay S.’s “Focus on Me!” Well, did you do it Lindsay? Did you Focus on yourself? Did each of you accomplish your goals? As we come to close the year of 2018, I want you to start now building the habits you want for 2019. Why wait for the new year? Here is my take on it. If you start using a bit of discipline now, when it is “crazy busy” to come to class 3 time s a week or more, then by the new year, it will be a habit. Let’s use Lindsay for a second; the list of excuses could be there every day, but this lady has a habit…just like walking her dog or brushing her teeth, she comes to class. No excuses. She knows she feels better when she comes to class!
Here are my steps to build a good habit starting NOW for 2019! It will not only help build that habit but it will help with the stress of the holidays!
- Do not wait. I hear over and over, “I will come when I get more in shape.” WHAT?? What is that? Come in to GET in shape. Lindsay worked hard to be strong. It didn’t just happen over night!
- Stop Worrying. Don’t worry about what other people are doing. Don’t worry about what other people are saying. Don’t worry about what other “may” think. Barre + Beyond is non-judgmental. We love you whether you are brand new and we don’t know, or you have been with us before. We’ll give you a hug and know that we are excited to have you back. No questions. No explanations. No need to worry.
- Don’t be shy. Ok, if you are shy by nature, fine. We’ll do all the talking. You’ll come in, slip your shoes off, fill out a waiver, grab some weights and find a spot. Don’t be shy. Just come. We welcome you.
- Last. Breathe. Smile. Write yourself an little note of encouragement. Set your goals now and start now. Don’t Wait. Strop Worrying, Stop thinking. Just go!
Use a little discipline, a little planning, a little focus to create your habit for 2019 now.
