NEW CLASS! CORE & BALL
Let’s take your favorite barre moves and add extra CORE emphasis, sound good? We can always work our core more. A strong core means the ability to have complete control over all movement of our extremities and thus prevent injuries. As a former dancer, core strength was the difference between the ability to balance on my toes and turn like a top versus falling over after just one quarter of a turn. In Barre, we aren’t turning, but our limbs move and we need a strong core to prevent injury. The “core” is not only in the front of the body but also the back of the body; the first part of our core is the front abdominal wall from the ribcage down to the pelvis and the second part is from the upper back where our ribcage lies along the spine. We want to strengthen our abdominals and spine to prevent injury while learning to isolate the movements of our arms and legs without the rest of the body “wiggling” around. Lets create a strong “core” or center in our NEW CORE & BALL class. We all want flatter abs but most importantly, these muscles need to be strong. In our recent survey, majority of you said you want a CORE class, so here it is! In this new class, great for all levels, we will target all parts of our core. We will use the stability ball to help us, challenge us and assist us in all our core blasting barre moves. Just get ready! Our first CORE & Ball class is on Tuesday, September 1st at 8:30. The class is a small class size perfect to focus more deeply on form, so please sign up online ahead of time. This class is a part of your normal class package but requires a minimal a ball rental fee of $2. The fee will be waived for the month of September.
