Team Spotlight; Kristina Faust

I remember Kristina’s first class with us and it seems like she remembers it too!  She stood in the front of the studio to the right side of me. Focused. Hard working. Perfect Form. And those gorgeous legs were shaking! I knew she would love barre and through the grapevines, I heard she might want to be a part of our team. Yay! Win Win! We love having Kristina on our team. She has such insight to the body having been a gymnast, an runner and overall athlete and a successful personal trainer in Chicago. She brings a new level of intensity to our classes, knowledge to our team and a positive spirit to our community.  Her hard work, attention to detail, and her creativity is admirable and makes for a great addition to our Barre + Beyond family. She has a beautiful family of her own, and we have loved getting to watch her two vivacious children grow. Thank you for all that you do for us, our clients and community. When did you start teaching?

I started teaching in the fall of 2017, just about a year ago. I think my first official class was right before  thanksgiving.
What do you love about barre?
Everything! I love that it’s as mental a mental challenge and workout as it is physical. I love how effective it is and how it builds strength from your core out. I love that it is a functional workout, in that in my day to day activities (picking up kids, loading groceries, going on hikes, and up and down stairs) I feel stronger and more flexible. And I love that it never gets easier, you just get stronger and better adapted to getting in to the positions and holding them and really finding that solid mind/body connection to get deeper into the muscles.
What’s your favorite class to each?
Core and Cardio 🙂 I like the extra challenge built into this workout that really elevates your heart rate and takes it to another level.  And I love the feed back from clients, it’s very motivating to see how hard they can really work and push themselves.
What is your most memorable day at barre?
My first day I think. I just remember walking through the door and being welcomed with this tremendously warm and friendly greeting. It set this introvert at ease and is what really stood out to me and made me want to keep coming back.
How has barre affected you outside of the studio?
Barre has given me something to focus a lot of energy on. It is a great outlet for me creatively and physically.
Being a mom of two little kids, it allows me to have something just for myself. Not to mention it keeps me strong so I can keep up with them.  And my hubby doesn’t mind all the yoga gear I wear 😉
If someone takes your class, what can they expect?
A higher intensity experience where you can do the focused barre moves but also lots of combinations that will keep your heart rate up. And hope some creative moves. I strive to be creative without going too outside the box.
What is your guilty pleasure?
Red wine! Haha
What do you do for fun?
BEACH! Even though we live right next to the beach, I still don’t get there half as much as I’d like to. But I love the beach at magic hour (sunset), sitting with my family and friends and a couple drinks 🙂
Thanks Kristina! We love having you on our team!
Cheers to you and all the awesomeness that you bring.

Orlee
