Plank It Ladies

Talk about a love hate relationship!  Actually we really do LOVE more than hate the body shakin plank because they are one of the deepest challenges for your body and you will find yourself in one at every M.O.M.s Method class. WHY? Because they strengthen your core like no other and they truly are a total body workout! We actually love them so much (well…maybe just the results!) that we want to show you the PERFECT form for a forearm plank so when your instructor says to get into the forearm plank position you know exactly what to do!

FORM MATTERS BIG TIME!!!  Without the proper form you won’t get those amazing benefits and even worse you run the risk of having aching wrists, back, and neck. Once you master the perfect form you can focus your mind on holding your plank til you shake! Shakes=it’s working ladies! So let’s do this…

Start by clasping your hands together and placing your elbows under your shoulders. Then step your feet back one by one and come to the balls of your feet. You will want your feet hips distance apart. Make sure you are not on your tippy toes or letting your back sway. You will want to tighten, engage, and pull your abs together all the way from your lower pelvic floor muscles all the way into your chest! FULL CORE ENGAGEMENT! You will want to engage your core and then feel your whole body pressing away from the floor.

Engage your thighs, calves, shoulders, and chest will all be engaged while your abdominals are being sculpted and your belly flattens! As always your are going to want to make sure your shoulders are in place and they are pressing away from your neck! Once you find yourself in proper form and position, your connection will deepen and your whole body will be shakin!!! Sculpted Body + Strong Mind!
