Client Spotlight – Cindy

Everyday, you come into the studio to get a workout in. You come because you love the way you feel when you leave. You come because this workout “works” for you. You may also come because of the people. Cindy is one of those people. She is the person you love seeing when you come. She is real. She will not judge you. She will be your friend. She has such an amazing warm heart. She works in marketing and has a busy home life as well. In her spare time, she works with Kids Alive International. If you don’t know much about this organization, you will learn that she has found a purpose in her life and wishes to share only the good with others in need. Yes, she has a heart of gold! No matter what goes on in her life, no matter if she is caring for children across the world, for her own family or for her friends, Cindy finds time to sneak in classes for herself. You can read below about Cindy’s journey here at Barre + Beyond below.

When did you first start coming to Barre + Beyond ( Mind Over Matter Method Barre Classes)?

My first class was in late March 2019

What got you “hooked” on Mind Over Matter Method Classes?

I started seeing healing from injuries and ailments I had been dealing with for years. I had tried treatments including acupuncture, physical therapy, chiropractic, etc with little to no improvement. Within the first month, I had noticeable improvement in pain and range of motion.

Have you seen changes in your physique?

I’ve seen changes I never expected. My core is stronger than it has ever been, even when I spent hours in the gym every day. There is improved muscle definition in my arms and legs. My clothes definitely fit better, and isn’t that what every woman wants?

How often do you take class?

My goal is to attend class 5 days per week. I think my average is probably closer to 4 days per week because of travel and life committments.

Have you ever taken a barre class before Barre + Beyond?

Never, and my first class was a stretch class.

Do you have any goals set for yourself in class?

My primary goal is to reach a point where I can execute all the movements and activities at the most challenging level. Doing full push-ups and planks rather than executing the modified versions. Building up to heavier weights.

What would you tell someone that is hesitant to try a class?

Come with a friend, the evening classes are a great addition to a girl’s night out. Every one can to the workout and the instructors will make sure you are using good form and preventing injury.

Anything else you would like to add?

Barre + Beyond is one of the most supportive and encouraging fitness environments I’ve ever experienced. When was the last time you took a group fitness class and the instructor pointed out that you were doing something you couldn’t do the first time you took the class? Rachel L. did that for me recently and it was so encouraging to hear the affirmation on my hard work.

The transformations I have seen in some of my friends has been truly incredible. The women in the classes range from 20 to 60 and are at all walks in their fitness journey. Barre + Beyond recognizes and celebrates the beauty of women of all shapes and sizes. Just try it.

Thank you Cindy! We absolutely love having you in class. We love your positive energy and your commitment. Keep up the great work and we are excited for you to reach your goals!
